Hyundai And Iveco Join Forces For Electric Commercial Innovation

Hyundai and Iveco have collaborated to create a new electric commercial vehicle that is targeted for the European market. The automobile, which is to be unveiled at the IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, this coming September, will be based on Hyundai’s global eLCV platform.
Within this partnership, Hyundai will play a key role in producing and supplying the chassis cab, while Iveco takes care of converting and marketing the vehicle.
The model will be the first export version built on Hyundai’s new platform, specially created in order to produce commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 2.5 tons to 3.5 tons.
In the same line, one of the interesting features is the low-load floor, which is designed to improve cargo-hauling capacity. This partnership is an extension of their earlier joint projects, especially the introduction of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles such as eDaily FCEV and E-Way FCEV.
Both companies underscore that this cooperation is not only an extension of their partnership but also has a greater meaning. Namely, it emphasizes the joint efforts to foster the rapid early transition towards carbon-neutral mobility and transport.
The Global eLCV platform provided by Hyundai’s Ken Ramírez was taken to be a confidence in the transformation it brought with Iveco Group’s expertise in the European market and thus contributed to achieving carbon neutrality in Europe.
