Hyundai Alcazar made its official debut in India and it was introduced as a premium crossover. The Alcazar is based on the Creta, and this is the main reason why it's presented as a crossover and billed as a premium SUV that combines space and performance with both safety and technology.

You can easily spot the similarities between Creta and Alcazar models. the most striking is the bodywork and colored C-pillar accents. Nevertheless, the Alcazar has its original features starting with a revised grille and unique lighting units. Also, the Indian crossover has a wheelbase stretched by 5.9 inches (150 mm).

Another adaptation for the Indian market is that the newly introduced Alcazar offers six- and seven-passenger seating configurations. Hyundai also designed its interior so the second-row seats would slide, while models equipped with second-row captain’s chairs offer a first-in-segment rear center console.

Few details were revealed about the modifications brought to the interior, but it's definitely larger than the one from Creta. According to rumors and previous models released, there could be a digital speedometer, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a wireless smartphone charger.

Indian customers can choose from two different engines coupled to an optional six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter petrol engine delivers 157 horsepower and 141 lb-ft up to 191 Nm of torque. The crossover can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 10 seconds. Another engine option is the 1.5-liter diesel with an output of 113 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.

The Japanese automaker wants to offer the best-in-segment fuel efficiency and by the information released they might succeed.
