Hyundai Adds Google Places To Built-In Navigation for Easier Local Search

If you’re someone who likes using the built-in navigation instead of your phone, Hyundai just made that experience a little better—with help from Google.
Hyundai’s infotainment system now includes Google Places, meaning you’ll see info like photos, hours, and descriptions for millions of businesses and landmarks, just like in Google Maps. It’s a small upgrade, but it makes finding every spot way easier.

The feature is rolling out to models like the Kona, Tucson, Santa Fe, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 5 N, and Ioniq 9. Kia and Genesis cars will get it too, soon.

This is just the beginning. Next year, Hyundai plans to launch a new infotainment system called Pleos Connect, built on Android Automotive. The first car to get it will be an electric SUV coming in above the Inster.
