The Hunter all-terrain adventure vehicle from Prodrive is based on the Bahrain Raid Xtreme racing car piloted by multiple World Rally Championship winner Sebastian Loeb in the Dakar Rally. However, Prodrive insists that the production model is even crazier.

The Hunter, which is developed around a high tensile steel space frame chassis and features double-wishbone suspension and twin adjustable dampers at each wheel, has 15.8-in (400 mm) of wheel travel, which is a 2.0-in (50 mm) rise over the contest car that finished second to Toyota in this year's Dakar fight.

The production car's generated power is also greater because it is not artificially limited to adhere to racing standards. The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 in the client Hunter produces 600 horsepower (608 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. The power is routed to the massive 35-inch off-road tires through a six-speed paddle-shift gearbox, which replaces Loeb's six-speed sequential manual gearbox.

Prodrive claims the Hunter can go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in far less than 4 seconds to a max speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

Inside, drivers will find a digital display as well as a traditional center console with standard road car controls. The Hunter will set you back £1.25 million ($1.65 million) plus taxes.

“There are numerous hypercars on the market, however, they all need good roads or even race tracks to show their performance,” noted David Richards, Prodrive Chairman, and ex rally co-driver ace.
