Honda's 11th-gen Accord, having already made its debut in other regions in 2022, is finally set to hit the Japanese market in spring 2024, specifically in a hybrid-only variant.

In terms of appearance, it closely resembles the US-spec Honda Accord, however with a slightly varied color palette and distinct 18-inch alloy wheels. Under the hood, Japanese buyers will have a single option: the e:HEV self-charging hybrid.

This setup combines a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with dual electric motors and a CVT gearbox. While Honda hasn't revealed the exact power figures, a similar configuration in the Civic e:HEV produces 181 hp and 232.3 lb-ft of torque.

Innovations inside include a circular dial, known as the "Experience Selection Dial," replacing traditional climate controls and enhancing the ease of infotainment operation. This dial allows users to control audio, temperature, lighting, and more. The infotainment system comprises a 12.3-inch touchscreen, part of the Google Built-in suite, coupled with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.5-inch head-up display.

For a visual upgrade, buyers can opt for the Sportsline or Touringline packages, featuring various aesthetic enhancements like bumper and side skirt extensions, decorative side gills, rear diffuser, lip spoiler, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Safety is a priority too, with the latest Honda Sensing 360 ADAS suite making its debut in Japan. Moreover, Honda plans to further upgrade the kit with even more advanced systems by 2025. Reservations for the 2024 Honda Accord in Japan open in December 2023, with deliveries set to begin in spring 2024.
