Huawei is joining forces with Changan Auto to spearhead a venture dedicated to pioneering intelligent automotive systems. The collaboration will see the birth of a new company where Huawei's leadership role is complemented by Changan's substantial, yet minority, stake.

Changan's recent announcement highlighted ambitious plans to bring to market cutting-edge technologies like smart lighting, sophisticated cockpit systems, augmented-reality displays, and forward-thinking driving solutions.

Huawei and Changan's collaboration emphasizes support for current automakers, enhancing vehicle tech, a path divergent from companies like Xiaomi, which opts to manufacture its own cars. Huawei already has a track record of success in vehicle production through partnerships, exemplified by the Aito and Luxeed brands, developed alongside Seres and Chery, respectively.

The upcoming Luxeed S7 sedan, a direct competitor to the Tesla Model S, is a testament to the partnership's potential. With Richard Yu Chengdong at the helm of Huawei’s tech units, there's confidence that the S7 will surpass its rivals in sophistication. With sales launching on September 28th, options range from a 60.48 kWh battery with a 288 HP motor, to a more robust 79.9 kWh battery coupled with dual motors for a total of 450 HP, catering to diverse power and performance preferences.
