Honda Shows Off e:Ny1 Prototype For Upcoming Electric SUV

Honda has recently announced two new vehicles, one electric and the other hybrid, that it aims to deliver in Europe soon. Electrified variants of the next-generation CR-V have also been confirmed by Honda. The smallest of the two crossovers will be the electric one.

The e:Ny1 Prototype, a Hyundai Kona Electric-rivaling concept, is rumored to ride on an extended version of the Honda e's chassis. There are no known technical specifications e:Ny1 Concept, however, it might be connected to the Chinese e:NS1 and e:NP1 concepts, which both have a 68.8 kWh battery and a stated range of up to 311 miles (500 km).

The Honda-teased hybrid crossover, on the other hand, does not have a name. Nonetheless, the SUV is the same one that Honda used to show off its 2023 HR-V in North America. Honda already sells a European-market-specific HR-V, which is identical to the ones sold in Japan and other areas but is different from the 2023 HR-V sold in the United States.

With regards to the next-generation CR-V, it will be offered in Europe for the first time with both full hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine choices in 2023.

“In 2023 Honda will further expand the availability of our e:HEV full hybrid technology with the launch of an all-new C-segment SUV,” said Tom Gardiner, senior vice president of Honda Motor Europe. He added: “Sitting alongside Honda’s existing HR-V and CR-V and the all-new e:NY1, this car will provide a compelling option for those customers looking for a sporty, dynamic, full-hybrid option.”
