High-Speed Mishap: Hennessey Venom F5 Crashes At 250 MPH, Driver Unharmed

On Saturday, the founder of Hennessey confirmed on Instagram that a test driver was unharmed in a 250-mph crash involving a Venom F5 at Florida's Kennedy Space Center earlier this month.

According to John Hennessey, the test driver lost control of the 1,817-horsepower supercar while evaluating a revised aerodynamic setup at 250 mph due to a loss of downforce. 

Thankfully, the driver was unharmed and could walk away from the accident. The crash's cause is still unknown. According to Hennessey, his team is analyzing the data to determine the incident's origin. In a statement, Hennessey expressed his gratitude to the engineers and technicians responsible for designing and building the powerful vehicle.

He added, "We are also very thankful to the first responders and staff at KSC for their quick response to ensure everyone’s safety." With a stated maximum speed of 311 mph, Hennessey claims the Venom F5 to be the world's fastest production vehicle. However, Hennessey had yet to document any attempt to reach that speed at the time of writing.
