GMA T.50s Niki Lauda Is A Tribute In Red

This week started with the Gordon Murray Automotive’s reveal of the Niki LaudaT.50s supercar,  marking the tribute to the triple F1 champion. The experts instantly named it a real hardcore version of the T.50 for its parallel design. It seems that the slight difference is that the T 50s is a car designed as a track car, instead of the road previous one.

A 3.9-liter V-12 engine with output increased to 701hp and delivers 485 lb-ft of torque. According to GMA, the total workout per liter is out to 178hp, an improved version of the legendary Cosworth DFV F1 V-8. It’s interesting that the final revealed T.50s didn’t stick with the initial 6-speed manual transmission, but has the power going to the rear wheels through the 6-speed paddle-shifted gearbox developed by Xtrac.

The top speed rises up to 210mph, while the one designed for shorter circuits allows a 170-mph top speed, by GMA standards. The chassis has unique, track focus-tunning, lower ride height, forged magnesium 18-inch wheels with Michelin tires, and new aerodynamic elements. Building a tribute car doesn’t mean you can’t take the liberty to loan another car’s elements.

The T.50s Niki Lauda got the rear “delta” wing from Murray’s 1983Brabham BT52 F1, while McLaren F1 inspired the central seat’s design. There are also additions such as dive planes, a pronounced spinal fin, and a front splitter included. The interior has plenty of space for an extinguisher and a switchgear panel by ditching one of the passenger’s seats.

The production is scheduled to start in January 2023 with 25 examples planned only, for the obvious price of $3.6 million, with the promise of trackside support and private events for the owners
