Freestanding Infotainment System For 2022 Toyota Tundra

It’s been a week since Toyota premiered its 2022 Tundra exterior. Several days later, we get to see the new model’s interior. Don’t hold your breath, though, there’s only one panoramic photo with a good part of it being dedicated to the windshield.

Among the few things we get to spot in the photo, there is an impressive widescreen infotainment system with a freestanding display. The steering wheel is covered in perforated leather, featuring a red stripe on the center.

The A-pillars get small speakers and grab handles, while something resembling HomeLink is spotted on the rearview mirror.

Although not many details have been made public about the new Tundra TRD Pro, last week’s picture does reveal a robust body, with a big TOYOTA inscription on the front mesh grille, T-shaped headlights, highlighted fender flares, marker lights, and an auxiliary light bar. The A-pillars are finished in black, with tubular rock rails and tires around black TRD wheels.

The officials have previously announced that the model will run on two new engines, with the entry-level motor delivering much more power than the current 5.7-liter V8 (381 hp and 401 lb-ft torque). We do see Land Cruiser’s new 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine fitting quite well on this Tundra. This one roars 409 hp with a torque of 479 lb-ft.

No other official news has been made available but we might see a plug-in or hybrid powertrain since Toyota is pretty eager into electrifying its pickup models.
