FRANKFURT 2015: The new BMW X1 generation F48 in AutoExpert's sight !

The second generation of the compact BMW SAV was also present at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new model code-named F48 and retrieve the little off-roader Estafeta in the continued success of its predecessor.

With the launch of the new X1, the BMW model range introduces another car with front-wheel drive, two Active Tourer by BMW. So xDrive all-wheel drive will be optional versions with engines less powerful, or in a car equipped with standard performance engines. Among the novelties, it brings the second generation of crossover and the dimensions are increased. The new X1 is up to 53 mm longer and offers more interior space for passengers, especially for the rear seats. Luggage capacity also increased with 85 liters and now measures 505 liters. However, the rear seats can be folded down whenever this volume to increase to 1,550 liters! A novelty presents the separated seats that can be folded against 40:20:40 or even displaced by 130 millimeters in the front, in case you need even more space!

The standard features include an acclimatization system, USB and AUX sockets, iDrive display, and 6.5-inch diagonal, while the list of optional is more diversified. This includes full-LED headlights technology, Dynamic Damper Control, Head-up Display, Stop & Go, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Jam Assistant, Collision Warning, Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, and Driving Assistant Plus system. BMW X1 comes with new engines and powertrains and for the beginning, the range consists of two petrol units and three diesel engines, whose power of 150 hp starts and rises up to 231 hp. The customers will have a choice between two types of transmission, six-speed manual or automatic eight reports, both freshly designed. X1 sDrive20i and X1 sDrive18d versions are moved by the front-wheel-drive systems, like Active Tourer models of Series 2 and Gran Tourer, however, it has not been ruled out xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which can choose anytime.
