The wild electric hatchback is built for track duty, the Mini Electric pacesetter has a mini task with plenty of responsibility - to lead the Formula E at the next JCW cars. The recent teaser shows a Mini with a pace safety car-style aimed to lead Formula E. Nicknamed the Mini Electric Pacesetter, the EV is inspired by John Cooper Works (JCW) and will steal all the attention at the event.

The current Pacesetter is a small glimpse at the future high-performance electric Minis which according to Bernd Körber, Head of MINI, it's a perfect reveal of what a JCW electrification might look like. The duo will blast the market. The safety-car has suffered several modifications, reduced weight by 287 pounds (0,453 kg) compared to the Mini Cooper SE model by its welded-in roll cage, race seats, and six-point harnesses.

Other performed modifications were the netted 3D-printed material for the seats' cushions with optional colors and densities. Both electric motor and battery remain intact delivering the same output of 181 horsepower and 269 Newton-meter, reaching 0-62 mph in just 6.7 seconds which is a great performance for an electric MINI electric vehicle.

Substantial upgrades were brought to the handling and braking by adjusting the racing coilovers for better compression, camber, rear height, and the four-piston brake calipers. The vehicle's four-spoke wheels are fitted with the 245-mm Michelin Pilot  Sport tires with wider track necessities of 3D-printed carbon fiber fender flares. The new rear-wing is almost similar to the GP unit but made from carbon fiber material.

There are also splitters, side skirts, and a larger diffuser to round out the aerodynamic tweaks. The Mini Electric Pacesetter will make its debut at the Formula E event scheduled on April 10, in Rome and its first impression will influence how much we'll wait for a similar Mini on the roads.
