The Woodward Dream Cruise formally kicks off this weekend but the celebrations are already underway as the one-off Explorer ST has been introduced by Ford Performance.

The variant has a white body with distinctive blue racing stripes intended to promote the Ford Performance Racing School. Explorer has also had a front splitter, window nets, and 21-inch signature wheels clothed with tires from Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

Interior photos were not published but the model has a customized safety cage and 4 four-point Recaro Cross Sportster CS seats. It is also logical to think that the cabin was scratched, but at this moment nothing is confirmed.
On the lead, there's a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo motor.

It typically generates 400-hp (298 kW/406 PS) and 415 lb-ft (563 Nm), however, this specific model has been tuned by HP Tuners to provide more power and torque than the standard version.

No word on performance, but Explorer comes with a Brembo front brake system with six-piston calipers that latch onto 16.5-inch (419 mm) vented discs from the Shelby GT500. For braking, the system uses Castrol SRF racing brake fluid intended to endure the harsh conditions of racing.

When the Woodward Dream Cruise wraps up in two weeks. He says the vehicle "will receive additional performance tweaking as we know its full potential."
