Font-Engine Layout Is A Possibility For C9 Corvette

If you'd ask a Corvette fan "Who's the fairest of them all?" a true fan would answer that it's the one with a front-layout engine. And they might be right. It's a real struggle to work on and modify in such a tight space. Many even declared that they're disappointed with the latest quality issues and would love if Corvette would get back to the good old days.

The complaints about the C8 are the problems with the LT2 engine, which was supposed to be reliable and versatile at the same time. Well, in practice, it can crush after only 57 miles. A Corvette with an engine on the front might bring the Corvette's image of becoming a motorsport legend for the second time in history.

This time we're talking about more space for turbos, a supercharger, or other upgrades inside an electrified Corvette, where the front-engine layout is the best scenario.  Targeting the American automotive landscape Corvette wants to invest and impose the V8-powered front engine.

According to Joe Massa-Puzj, new design boss at General Motors, the decision opens great opportunities for him, and putting the engine "back where it belongs" allowing the team to get a free hand on "playing" with the car's exterior. They don't have to integrate vents and ducts along with the car's profile, turning the C9 into a sleeker, faster-looking machine.

Another idea slipped by Massa-Puzj is to bring back the split rear window, but that's another story to tell.
