A decade ago, Lewis Hamilton clinched his first victory in a Formula 1 Grand Prix while driving for Mercedes. And here's the thrilling part—RM Sotheby's is now overseeing its auction set to unfold in Las Vegas on November 17th.

Let's dive into the backstory of this remarkable event. The star of the show is the W04, the race car of choice during the 2013 season. That year marked the end of the roaring 2.4-liter naturally aspirated V8s before new hybrid regulations took over the following year.

But before basking in victory, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes faced their fair share of struggles. On one particular circuit, Hamilton's teammate Nico Rosberg managed to hold onto the pole position. Hamilton, despite starting in second place, had to settle for fourth. Another race witnessed Hamilton's hopes of a win dashed by unfortunate tire issues, even though he started at the front.

This changed in Hungary, where luck finally turned in Hamilton's favor. Securing pole position in the qualifiers and benefiting from improved tire durability, Hamilton finally clinched his first win for Mercedes. Adding to the fortune, Rosberg's engine decided to call it quits. Before his tenure with Mercedes, Hamilton had tasted victory while racing for McLaren, the team he joined back in 2007.

While that victory remained the only one for Hamilton that season, the following year saw him claim his second World Championship title. It was just the beginning of an astonishing run of success, marking the start of six triumphs for Mercedes. This incredible streak catapulted Hamilton into the league of racing legends. Consequently, his first race-winning vehicle is expected to attract spirited bidding.

Being the last naturally aspirated Mercedes F1 car, it holds immense value in the realm of automotive industry. RM Sotheby's estimates that the winning bidder will part with a sum ranging between $10 million and $15 million.
