Ferrari Unleashes Carbonio a Vista: A Bold Carbon Fiber Finish for 2024

Ferrari is currently enjoying its wild crazy car color customizations through its Tailor Made program, but when the paint is not enough for Maranello’s VIP clients - Ferrari develops a new exclusive carbon fiber finish called Carbonio a Vista and shows it off on three Daytona SP3 supercars.

The latest examples follow the “less is more” rule. In turn, the appealing naturally-aspirated V12 supercars were left nearly bare, exposing a transparent and protective coating that sustains their genuine black carbon-fiber texture, enhanced by blue paint on one of the cars. Each car received an exclusive Spazzolato treatment to improve its already stunning body.

The biggest challenge was the caution in installing the carbon fiber sheets. The design team had to reassess the whole assemblage of the car's body panels, as this two-tone paintwork forms little deformities when the sheets are installed. A complex study has been executed for positioning the sheets where such blemishes don't merge.

This car runs on a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12, producing 830 HP and 514 lb-ft of torque.

Ferrari kept the favorite-listed rear-wheel-drive layout for this model, which is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). As a result, the Daytona SP3 can reach a top speed of 211 mph and rock 0–60 mph in only 2,85 seconds.

The Carbonio a Vista exterior finish is now available only for Daytona SP3. One important advantage of this program is the weight decrease, which, according to Ferrari, should offer higher speeds. However, the automaker confessed that performance is not the inspiration for this option. Lucky owners of one of the 599 limited cars may benefit from a variety of unique shades, named after precious stones and metals, including Malachite, Ametista, Rubino, and Oro.
