Farewell To A Flagship: Lexus LS Bows Out After 30 Years

Lexus has quietly let go of the LS sedan in the UK after more than 30 years. Sales had been dismal—only three cars sold in 2024 and just 39 since 2020. It was clear the flagship sedan wasn't resonating with buyers anymore.

Lexus didn't just blame poor sales, though. They cited regulatory hurdles and pointed out that the LM minivan had gained traction with the same type of customers who might have gone for the LS.

The shift is pretty evident on their website, where the Lexus LS has been bumped to the "Previous Models" section, with a polite nudge to check for used stock.

Although the Lexus LS is no longer available in the UK, it remains available in regions such as Japan, North America, and parts of Europe.

It may not have the same presence as its rivals like the Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series, but it's still holding on elsewhere.
