EuroNCAP offers autonomous braking systems! Includes the test with pedestrians (VIDEO)

Today, many modern cars can be equipped with autonomous braking systems, able to react promptly in case of detecting a possible collision. The new technologies are proving to be extremely effective especially at pedestrian crossings where the driver's reaction to the identification of a possible "obstacle" may be delayed and thus collision becomes imminent.

Here comes the so-called system AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking), which aims to save you not only you as a driver but the ones who cross the street, whether regular or not doing. And gentlemen in Brussels have decided to tie it appropriate to test these systems, independent crash tests and I must say they did a good job. They perfectly simulated the conditions in which the system must prove its necessity, resorting to a flexible model that mimics the movements of walking.

The first participants were a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volkswagen Passat, Volvo V40, and Ford Mondeo. But soon there could be other models such as Audi Q7, BMW i3, and BMW 2 Series, NX Lexus, Mercedes C-Class, Mini Cooper, Volvo XC90, and Toyota Avensis.
