Estrema Fulminea Solid-State Battery Rises The Electric Hypercar Price Up To $2 Million

Automobili Estrema is finally ready to make us one of the proudest fans of hypercars. The new Fulminea electric hypercar was presented during a show form at the Turin Automobile Museum and let us tell you – it literally takes your breath away at first sight. And there’s more to it!

The new Estrema Fulminea comes with a combined 2,040 HP delivered by four electric motors and the battery technology used by Automobili Estrema is designed to be fitted along with a ‘hybrid’ battery pack both being ultra-capacitors and solid-state cells. These two are cutting-edgy with capacitor previously used in Lamborghini’s Sian but now would see what a solid-state battery pack is capable of on a road.

Estrema stated that the Fulminea tests ranked at least 2,040 horsepower and could reach 0 to 200 mph (320 km/h) in less than 10 seconds, with an acceleration of just 2 seconds the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint. The battery offers a 323-miles (520 km) driving range with just a 100kWh battery pack on the WLTP cycle.

The company’s boss Gianfranco Pizzuto confirmed that they will use the low-volume nature of the Fulminea and the strong backing of their partner ABEE (Avesta Battery Energy Engineering) Group as a strategic introduction of the solid-state batteries first into a production vehicle. They even were able to build the “hybrid” battery pack, with Li-ion solid-state cells produced in cooperation with IMECAR Elektronik.

The types of cells use will be housed in different carbon fiber cases - a smaller one with the ultracapacitors mounted behind the front axle and a larger solid-state pack consisting of cell-to-pack technology, mounted behind the cockpit. This diverse mounting of the batteries serves as optimal weight distribution.

Automobili Estrema makes the Fulminea electric hypercar - limited production of 61 units only and plans to deliver the first examples in the third quarter of 2023. The price is quite catchy for such an exquisite hypercar - around $2.4 million (2 million euros).
