Eric Cantona Gets His Own Ford Capri, Complete With A 'Kung Fu Kick' Tribute

Eric Cantona has never exactly been known for playing it safe. So it kind of makes sense that when Ford decided to bring back the Capri as an electric coupe, they roped in one of football’s most unpredictable icons to help give it some extra swagger.
Yep, Ford built a one-off Capri just for Cantona. This thing is packed with personal touches that celebrate the legend himself, including that moment in 1995 when he literally kung fu-kicked a fan in the chest after getting heckled during a game. That infamous move? It’s now stitched into the headrests. Seriously.
The car’s called the Capri Eric Cantona One-Off, and it's dripping with personality. Outside, it’s painted in a loud Signal Orange as a nod to the 1970s Capri Mark III. Black racing stripes, a number 7 on the side (his jersey number at Manchester United), and big 21-inch wheels complete the look. There's also a subtle rear spoiler and a 3D crown badge on the D-pillars.

Step inside, and the attitude continues with premium leather and bold orange stitching. Meanwhile, the center console features a backlit Plexiglass panel displaying a cryptic quote that seems to have come straight from Cantona’s own notebook: “When a goat follows his hero in his car, it’s because the ruler on the racetrack returns. The Legend is back.”

The base car is the Capri RWD Extended Range, so under the skin, it’s unchanged from the one coming to showrooms. However, this version is clearly all about the vibes, not the spec sheet. No performance tweaks here, just a whole lot of attitude.

Ford France worked closely with Cantona to get the look and details just right, and the car was officially revealed at a private event in Paris. Even if you’re not a football fan, it’s hard not to appreciate the level of personality this Ford Capri carries.
