Entop has rebranded its Afghanastanian supercar as the Simurgh. Mohammad Reza Ahmadi, the company's CEO, designer, and chief engineer, unveiled the car at the 2023 Geneva International Auto Show's Doha branch.

While specific details were not disclosed, Ahmadi mentioned the team's desire to participate in Le Mans before making the previously named Mada9 supercar available to the public.

Entop first gained attention earlier this year when it introduced the Mada9, initially referred to as their prototype, as the world's first Afghan supercar. Ahmadi had indicated that the car would be ready in just two weeks, yet specifics remained elusive. That Mada9 seemed to be powered by the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine from a 2004 Corolla sedan.

Nevertheless, Entop claimed that the engine had been modified. Now, nearly ten months later, Ahmadi appeared in Qatar's capital with no mention of the Mada9 but with a seemingly identical car, now bearing the name Simurgh. In an interview at the Doha show, Ahmadi expressed a desire to "build something to put my country on the map again."

According to Bloomberg, the automaker paid for the exhibition space and raised $130,000 in crowdsourced funds to make it there. Despite this, Ahmadi has not disclosed any details about the car's chassis, features, specifications, or production schedule. Instead, he and his team aspire to race at Le Mans, aiming to secure $43.2 million to complete the development of the Simurgh and enter it into the historic 24-hour race. While the likelihood of this happening remains uncertain, it would be an impressive feat if achieved.
