End of career for Porsche 918 Spyder model. The last car recently left the assembly line.

The most ambitious project of sports car manufacturer Porsche, the 918 Spyder hypercar, reached the home stretch.

The supercar, with an average age of five years, has played an important role in the history of the manufacturer, and now, with its job done, is about to give the way to his successor.

The Porsche 918 Spyder concept was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in spring 2010, so that later, after three years of testing, it received the green light for the production line.  In total only 918 units were built, and each of these is an important piece of a huge puzzle in the automotive industry.

For about two years 2013-2015, during the time when it was on the assembly line, the Porsche 918 Spyder served as a landmark for many world-renowned automakers, being among the pioneers of the sports cars segment with hybrid propulsion. Thus arose Ferrari and McLaren P1 or LaFerrari.

At present, Porsche 918 Spyder holds the supreme record from Nurburgring, which is covered in just 6:57 minutes. A record that makes it the fastest production car in the world which is approved "street-legal" and that despite tremendous reserve of 887 hp and manages to remain accessible in daily operation. We remind you that the datasheet of the car tells us a combined consumption of only three liters of fuel per 100 kilometers!

In the launch of a successor to the 918 Spyder, Porsche said that it is already working on the project, but they were reserved about terms of production or its debut year.
