Elon Musk Teases Tesla Roadster: Will It Live Up To The Hype?

The Tesla brand got us very excited when it first unveiled the second-generation Roadster on November 16, 2017. However, by now, the dream sports car has still not hit the market. 

On the other hand, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced that the significant lapse of time is almost over, which incited the enthusiasm of the interested parties. Notorious for creating suspense, Musk stated the Roadster would convey a new meaning for the word "car.”

According to Musk, however, the upcoming Roadster will be not only a fantastic engineering marvel, but it will also have "ridiculous" acceleration, presumably reaching 60 mph in less than a second. Tesla has already settled the design, and mass production is expected to start at the end of the year, but deliveries for customers are expected to be completed in 2025. 

However, with Tesla, there is no telling when things could happen. The Roadster was initially touted to achieve remarkable performance metrics: 0–60 mph in 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 8.8 seconds. Moreover, in a similar fashion, the performance of the Tesla Roadster was claimed to surpass 250 mph and provide a single charge range of 620 miles. 

Nevertheless, Tesla takes Roadster reservations at the price of $50,000 per each, and the final one is expected to range from $200,000 to $250,000.
