ElectricBrands XBUS EV Van Speeding Towards Fantastic 2025 Debut

German startup ElectricBrands is the brains behind the XBUS EV, initially showcased in 2020. However, co-CEO Max Brandt is firm that this compact van will hit the market by late 2024 or early 2025 after a reveal at a dealer event scheduled for this November.

Brandt is quick to clarify that the delays, which pushed the original sales target for the previous year, shouldn't be seen as a red flag for the project's progress.

What sets the XBUS EV apart is its standout USP—10 modular and interchangeable bodies that can seamlessly convert it from a passenger van to a panel van, box van, pickup, wagon pickup, convertible, or even a miniature motorhome.

These versions also offer an off-road specification featuring all-terrain tires, increased ground clearance, all-wheel drive, and the flexibility for buyers to upgrade the battery from the stock 10 kWh to a 30 kWh pack, extending the range up to an impressive 373 miles from the initial 124-mile range.

Remarkably lightweight at just 1,322 lbs, the ElectricBrands XBUS EV packs a punch with a total power output of 75 hp from its four hub motors and a robust 738 lb-ft of torque.

ElectricBrands has also strategically made changes to streamline production costs, ensuring that the XBUS EV can hit the market at the originally anticipated prices, or only slightly higher, despite the delays. In 2021, the pricing in Germany was estimated to start at €18,070 for the base LCV variant, going up to €32,370 for the off-road model.
