Electrical Land Rover Defender.

According to the official press release, the British are trying to demonstrate to the public that can deliver innovations regarding zero emission cars even in the rough terrain.

An electric unit took the place of the old diesel engine from the body Defender 110 version. Zero-emission engine provides 95 horsepower and 330 Nm of engine torque, delivered instant and constant, making it possible to use special transmissions with a single speed step. All-wheel drive was kept.

A lithium-ion battery, with a capacity of 27 kWh, powers the engine, enough for an autonomy of 80 kilometers covered in all conditions. The battery weighs no less than 410 kilograms and was placed instead of the engine, making the total mass to increase by 100 kilograms compared to the conventional version and lies between values of 2055 to 2162 kilograms, depending on the body type.

The Land Rover Advanced Engineering team has developed those seven electric cars, after a successful test of the drive train. Among the toughest tests of electric models were the towing of a 12-ton trailer along of a slope with an inclination of 13 degrees and crossing a ford having the deep of 800 mm.

The Land Rover Company said it doesn't plan mass production of any of the concepts that will present in Geneva.
