Dodge Promises a 1,000HP Charger SRT Ghoul In 2022

More and more automakers chose to focus their attention on next-generation performances. Dodge is the one giving a hell of a finale for their V8 engines. Nothing lasts forever and it's better to let go and move onto the next chapter before it's too late. Their next project - the fabulous Charger SRT Ghoul is their next plan to bring a 1,000 horsepower engine on the market.

Until all-electric vehicles will become a standard on the roads all over the world, there' still room in the niche market for hybrids and plug-in hybrid setups for those who are already riding towards electrification. It's a real challenge for those muscular cars, but Jeep proved that it's possible with its lattes Wrangler 4xe and the Wrangler MAgneto EV  concepts. There's not much time to wait for it.

Dodge's "Goodbye V8" Party will be celebrated by releasing the last non-electrified V8 vehicle. The 2022 Dodge Charger SRT Ghoul is going to mark the soon-old niche by showing a beastly 1,000 HP performance.

Are you ready?

Happy April Fool's Day!

Believe it or not, but this initial joke it's still happening, because a good gag always inspires great ideas and successful projects, especially in the car industry. It's just a spark away. Dodge took it seriously and developed the idea of a Charger powered by the monstrous Hellephant V8 crate engine with an output of 1,000 horsepower and up to 1,288 Newton-meters of torque coupled to an Allison transmission routing power to the rear wheels as a standard.

Initially limited to just 100 units to be sold for $29,995 each, now you can buy one of the 100 future Ghouls for $200,000 per car. It's also a limited re-launch, but if the tax regulations won't change, you'll have to pay a little extra for the gas guzzler one. There's still work to do to bring the model to the production line. Reservations for the 2022 Dodge Charger SRT Ghoul began today.
