Chevrolet Unveils Limited-Edition Corvette Models Exclusively For Japan

Two new Chevrolet Corvette models were just unveiled, and they will only be sold in Japan. While the Heritage Edition pays homage to the 1953 C1 Corvette, the Edition CERV I draws inspiration from an experimental concept.

In 1959, Chevrolet introduced the first Experimental Research Vehicle, known as the CERV I. Known as the father of the Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntov created the mid-engined single-seater. The new C8 Corvette CERV I Edition takes design cues from the concept car's livery with its blue stripes on a Silver Flare Metallic tint.

The black five-spoke wheels stand out against the Edge Yellow brake calipers. The theme inside is a combination of tones of navy blue and jet black. Next, the 1953-introduced initial generation of the American sportscar serves as inspiration for the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Heritage Edition. The interior's trademark Adrenaline Red color scheme is the most glaring example.

A more understated Seawolf Gray Tri-Coat was the exterior finish that Chevrolet's designers settled on. The appearance is completed with a pair of gloss black 20-inch forged aluminum wheels. However, the special Chevrolet Corvettes keep the same 6.2-liter V8 engine that comes standard, which produces 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

The Chevrolet Corvette Heritage Edition and Edition CERV I are now on sale in Japan through the dealer network. The special editions will be offered in a total of 40 vehicles, with 15 coupes and 5 convertibles each having right-hand drive.

As for the pricing, the coupe versions come at ¥15,100,000 ($102,119) for the Edition Cerv I and ¥17,400,000 ($117,674) for the Heritage Edition, respectively. The more rare convertibles are priced at ¥18,900,000 ($127,818).
