Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Has High Demands On The Market This Year!

When a manufacturer is still wondering if it's profitable or not and the order for the model in question has skyrocketing demands - it is a good sign to go on. The best example is the GM's decision towards the mid-engined Corvette and the C8 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe and convertible models. According to their registers, Chevrolet has now sales as high as back in 1969 - more than a century ago.

This information was confirmed last week by Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles at the National Corvette Museum's Bash Event. In just four months this year, Chevrolet registered a total of 19,362 Corvettes order, including those built and those who will be built later.

Chevrolet will be forced by its customers, to build a couple of thousand units more before the 2022 model will launch this summer. Right now, the sales split in 41 percent for the convertible version, while the Coupes sum the rest 59 percent for this year at least. In numbers, Harlan Charles meant 7,938 convertibles and 11,423 coupes.

Let's dive deeper: 52 percent of convertible buyers opted for the 3LT top model and 33 percent for the coupe. Meanwhile, the 2LT option consists of 47 percent for the most popular coupe model this year only. As for the remaining 48 percent of the convertible customers, most of them opted for the 2LT and base 1LT.

Despite this, convertible buyers differ between the given options, and it's a profitable situation for Chevrolet. The buyers can even opt for customizing the roof and nacelles with the Carbon Flash Roof/Nacelles - it fit 35 percent of convertible purchasers.

This is a story of a successful sales hit since the '69 Stingray Convertible. Back then, 43 percent of the buyers opted for this model instead of its sibling - the T-Top Coupe.
