Bugatti Divo 'Lady Bug' Sports An Eye-Catching Custom Paint Job, And Took Almost 2 Years To Accomplish

Somebody out there has money and imagination to spare, and they're looking for Bugattis. A guy ordered a bespoke Bugatti Divo with a paint job that resembles the spots of a ladybug. The customer from the United States requested a geometric arrangement with an algorithmic fading effect.

Bugatti first doubted that this request could be fulfilled. It took the business a year and a half to figure out how to transfer this pattern onto the body's complicated curves without ruining the diamonds. The body is covered in around 1,600 diamonds.

Unlike a real ladybug, this Bugatti Divo's design is made out of diamond shapes. Customer Special Red is the dominant color, with Graphite as the contrasting color for the edges. Bugatti painted the body red and then put a transfer film on the exterior to achieve this vibe. Before applying the Graphite color, the business double-checks that the diamonds are in the proper position.

Ultimately, the procedure involves carefully detaching each diamond to expose the reddish hue underneath. Before implementing it on the customer's car, the company tested this technique multiple times. "Every maneuver had to be exactly right in this painstaking task, therefore we decided to do another rehearsal before the final stage of work," said Dirk Hinze, Bugatti's specialist in customizing and surfaces.

Bugatti only produced 40 Divos at a starting price of 5 million euros before extras, making each one unique. Likewise, the carmaker is keeping quiet about how much this customer will have to pay for such a sophisticated Bugatti Divo. Power comes from an 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 motor that produces 1,479 hp (1,103 kW), just like the other Divos. That's enough to achieve a max speed of 236 mph (380 km/h).
