Brad Pitt’s F1 Movie Gets A Star Car: Meet The Mercedes-AMG GT APXGP Edition

Brad Pitt is hitting the big screen this June in a long-awaited Formula 1 movie—and Mercedes-AMG isn’t missing the chance to join the spotlight. To celebrate, the brand has unveiled the ultra-limited Mercedes-AMG GT APXGT Edition, a black-and-gold tribute to the fictional APXGP F1 team featured in the film.
Only 52 will be made, making it as exclusive as it is eye-catching. Built on the AMG GT 63 4Matic+ platform, this special Mercedes-AMG GT APXGT Edition packs a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 under the hood, delivering a solid 585 horsepower.

Still, it’s the looks that really sell the drama. The matte black paint is accented with bold gold touches—grille, fenders, side skirts, and even the 21-inch wheels. If stealth and flash had a baby, this would be it. It also comes loaded with all the good stuff: AMG's Exterior Carbon Fiber package, the Aerodynamics package with a fixed rear wing, and the AMG Night Package II for even more blacked-out trim. It's a full visual flex.

Inside, the gold theme continues. The AMG Performance seats feature gold stitching, and you’ll spot gold accents on the steering wheel, air vents, and center console. A Burmester 3D sound system with 15 speakers, ambient lighting, and a special ‘1 of 52’ badge round out the interior. While every current F1 team will get screen time in the film, Mercedes-AMG had a major behind-the-scenes role—supplying vehicles like the SL, G-Class, and GT for filming.

F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, who recently made the jump to Ferrari, also co-produced the movie. As for the car? Mercedes hasn’t said how much it’ll cost or where it’s going, but with just 52 being made, odds are it’s already spoken for.
