Boldmen CR4: A BMW Z4-Based Roadster From Wiesmann's Founder

Boldmen CR4, established by Harald Käs, Michael Käs, and Friedhelm Wiesmann, is the latest arrival into the market of customized luxury vehicles. Because of Wiesmann GmbH's BMW-based retro-roadsters, his name may be recognizable to you. Michael Käs has experience in the field, having worked at Ruf and Alpina.

The BMW Z4-based CR4 is the company's debut product. The name contains the facts that make up some actual characteristics of this car. The C stands for carbon, which is used to keep the body light and high-quality; the R represents the roadster, which comes with an electronic soft-top; and the 4 stands for more than 400 hp. The CR4 uses a tweaked version of BMW's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 402 hp (408 PS/300 kW), good for a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3.9 seconds and electronically top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The luxurious Boldmen CR 4 thus has a significant advantage over the European Z4 M40i, which has 335 hp (339 PS/249 kW) and 449 lb-ft (610 Nm) of torque. It becomes more forceful than the Z4 M40i, which has 382 hp (387 PS/284 kW) in American and Australian specs. As a result, the more advanced version of BMW's automobile can achieve a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 4.1 seconds at best.

The German company plans to construct 20 cars this year, with another 80 slated for 2022. It thinks that if there is adequate demand, it might build up to 120 per year. CR4 will be produced in Germany to the specifications of the customers.

As a result, the CR4 will not be cheap, starting at €185,000 (USD 218,000), more than three times the price of the BMW Z4 M40i in Germany, which starts at €62,700 (USD 73,900).
