BMW has a lineup of updates rolling out this spring, including new engines, enhanced EV tech, and better standard features across several models. Starting with the all-electric BMW i5, both the sedan and wagon now feature technical upgrades to improve efficiency.

Changes like optimized wheel bearings, low-rolling-resistance tires, and advanced semiconductor components help boost the range by up to 29 miles (47 km) on some versions. The i5 M60 xDrive also gets the M Sport Pro package, adding more flair to the high-performance EV.

The standard 5-Series sees its own improvements, including a Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, and BMW’s signature interaction bar as standard equipment. Over in the 2-Series Gran Coupe lineup, two new versions are debuting in April.

The entry-level 216 Gran Coupe packs a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine making 121 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It goes from 0 to 62 mph in 9.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the new 223 xDrive Gran Coupe offers more punch with a 215 hp mild-hybrid setup and a 0-62 mph time of 6.4 seconds.

The X3 40d xDrive is getting an upgrade in May, featuring a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine and mild-hybrid tech. With 299 horsepower and 494 lb-ft of torque, it sprints to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds and tops out at 152 mph. Other changes include faster AC charging for the XM and plug-in hybrids of the X1, 2-Series Active Tourer, and 7-Series, cutting charging times significantly starting in March.

The X1 and 2-Series Active Tourer will also get a tire repair kit and new wheels, while the X5 and X6 receive adaptive matrix LED headlights. The BMW X7 now offers Parking Assistant Professional, and M5 buyers can choose new upholstery options along with high-gloss black accents featuring a 3D effect.
