BMW M, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, has debuted its newest MotoGP safety car, the BMW M2 CS Racing, which is a track-only version of the driver-focused M2 CS. Since the M2 CS Racing is based on the previous-gen 2-Series, it will appear a little outmoded once the new M2 is released.

Despite this, the M2 CS remains a stunning two-door coupe with a unique livery and additional light bars. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six motor under the hood may generate up to 444 horsepower (331 kW / 450 PS) depending on the configuration.

A Drexler mechanical limited-slip differential with independent cooling, adjusted ABS and DCS, ZF Sachs dampers, flexible anti-roll bars, new engine mounts, and other improvements over the road-going M2 CS are among the modifications.

BMW M2

This isn't the first time a BMW M2 has served as a safety car in MotoGP; during the 2016 season, BMW employed the standard, non-CS version. Several BMW M types have been part of the MotoGP fleet since 1999. The M3 Competition, M4 Competition, M5 CS, and M8 Competition Gran Coupé safety vehicles, as well as the X5 M Competition Medical Car and two BMW M 1000 RR Safety Bikes, are also part of the fleet this year. In the MotoE World Cup, the purely electric BMW i4 M50 Safety Car will also dominate the race.

On March 6, the BMW M2 CS Racing MotoGP Safety Car will enter into force at the Qatar Grand Prix. The track-only variant, which debuted in 2019, is now part of BMW M Customer racing, with costs beginning from €95,000 ($107,384) without taxes.
