BMW Group Will Deliver The i7 M70, A Very Special M Car, And Other Vehicles To Villa d'Este

BMW will be participating in the annual Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este event in Italy, as it has done for several years. Details about the event, like the dates and categories for the different vehicles, are in the announcement. But BMW also gave some hints about some new cars that will be shown off at the event.

They didn't give any names, though. One of the vehicles that was mentioned is the new all-electric M Performance model of the BMW 7 Series, which will feature a distinctive two-tone finish. This model is expected to be the i7, which was first mentioned during the April 2022 debut of the 7 Series/i7.

The i7 was expected to be BMW's most powerful production model ever, with more than 600 horsepower, and it is slated to make its debut in 2023, coinciding with the Villa d'Este event in May. It's worth noting, however, that BMW recently unveiled the XM, which currently holds the title of the brand's most powerful production model, boasting 644 horsepower in standard form. While there is also an even more powerful version, the XM Label Red, which has 738 horsepower, it has yet to go on sale and has only been shown in previews.

BMW has also teased a "very special BMW M car" without providing any additional information about it. There are many possibilities as to what this car could be, and automotive enthusiasts have been speculating on everything. However, it's worth noting that the mid-May timeline also coincides with the possibility of a full reveal or production launch of the XM Label Red. Nonetheless, we will have to wait until the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este event in mid-May to find out for sure.

BMW's announcement of a third teaser vehicle is intriguing but also somewhat ambiguous. The automaker describes it as an "elegantly sporty, one-off homage to motoring for two." It is possible that this vehicle is a concept car that is not related to any of BMW's current production models; furthermore, it is unclear if the vehicle is even a BMW at all. The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este event will take place on the shore of Lake Como in northern Italy from May 19th to May 23rd of this year.
