25 years have passed since the first X5 of the E53 generation left the production line at BMW's South Carolina plant, on September 1, 1999. With the Silver Anniversary Edition, built on top of the xDrive40i, BMW is celebrating in grand fashion.

A unique logo on the tailgate and the Lime Rock Grey paint distinguish it from the standard model. Plus, that's not all. Standard equipment includes an xOffroad Package, which includes a two-axle air suspension, mechanical rear differential lock, and additional underbody protection.

Upgraded ground clearance and four new driving modes (xSnow, xSand, xGravel, and xRocks) are standard features. Additionally, BMW includes what it calls an xOffroad camera, which can display the terrain up to 22 mph. An xOffroad View, located in the middle screen, augments the camera and displays the slope or downhill gradient of the ground.

On the Silver Anniversary Edition, all-terrain tires are an optional accessory. On sale now are these 20-inch, two-tone wheels sourced from the M Sport Package, along with the discounted set of General Grabber tires fitted by the dealer. Meanwhile, the carbon fiber accents found inside are inspired by the X5 M60i and the X5 M Competition.

Seats in Silverstone Sensafin, Black, Cognac, or Coffee are also available for the interior. Production of the 2025 BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition will commence in August, with an estimated 1,000 units set aside for the American market by BMW. Compared to a standard xDrive40i, this special edition costs $81,075 (not including delivery and handling taxes), a premium of $11,900.
