Suzuki has updated its SX4 S-Cross SUV with a more aggressive design and a slew of new features. A higher hood, a big grille, and a dark glare from those redesigned headlights make the new 2022 Suzuki S-Cross look a lot more aggressive.

More black trim, especially on the top of the wheel arches, gives a rougher attitude this time. While the 2022 Suzuki S-Cross isn't any wider on the outside, Suzuki claims it is far comfier on the inside.

If the interior comfort isn't enough to entice you, the new 9-inch touchscreen positioned at the top of the center console on the more costly Ultra versions, which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, could. For £29,799, Ultra models gain satellite navigation, leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof, whereas the £24,999 Motion trim gets heated seats, dual-zone climate, LED lighting, and keyless entry but loses the panoramic sunroof.

Traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring are standard on all versions. Although the S-Cross lacks EV and PHEV choices, it maintains the brand's push into electrification by providing 48-volt mild-hybrid tech for its 1.4-liter gasoline engine. It's based on the Swift and has 127 hp(129 PS) and 173 lb-ft (235 Nm) of torque to the front wheels, or all four if you pay extra for the Allgrip branding and rear gearbox hardware.

Surprisingly, the AWD model's greater traction isn't enough to compensate for its weight penalty, with the front-driver needing 9.5 seconds and the Allgrip machine 10.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic powertrain. The new 2022 Suzuki S-Cross will be produced alongside the Vitara in Suzuki's Hungary facility, and European sales will begin soon.
