Bertone Matinde - the best legal street races car ever!

The designer team at Bertone has created today's wonderful prototype, known to the world as Mantide. The car concept has a chassis coming from Corvette, just like the engine. Some of the biggest fans have managed to get a glimpse at the exterior curves revealed in the YouTube teaser videos. If you haven't seen it yet, browse it by searching for Project M.

Talking about the exterior curves, you should know that their author is Jason Castriota. Actually, a prototype of the concept made entirely out of clay has been presented during the Shanghai Motor Show for the very first time.

The producers of the car claim that it has very impressive technical performances, comparing it to the earlier works of theirs, like Alfa Romeo Carabo or Lancia Stratos Zero. And we must certainly mention the famous Lamborghini LP500.

Bertone's experience in producing prototypes inspired out of the Chevrolet cars goes a long way of over 50 years. Its know-how has been successfully used by Corvette C5R, the winner of the Le Mans race.

Mantinde is meant to become the best legal street race car ever! The authors also intend to make its design a symbol of the nest cars.

The car has a design that seems to come straight from the future. The shape reminds of a teardrop, which has already managed to become popular among the best sports cars, especially future design concepts. The exterior details make the car look aggressive and sensual, withal. You can recognize the fashionable form of Kamm Back in it.

The car's sexy shape doesn't have an esthetic role, exclusively. The innovative forms are directed towards ensuring a better dynamic and air efficiency.

The doors open in a butterfly manner and, along with the sharply shaped nose, they remind us of a jet fighter in full action.

Judging after the information released officially, this car should come with performances even better than ZR1. Why do you ask? First of all, it weighs less and has better aerodynamic. Carbon fiber is all over the car and inside of it: from chassis, chairs, and up to wheels! Thanks to all that, the first 100 km/h are reached in 3.2 seconds. Oh, and the maximum speed is 351 km/h, which is even more than we expected.
