Bertone Celebrates 110 Years With Groundbreaking GB110 Supercar

At this month's Top Marques Monaco, Bertone unveiled their new GB110 supercar for the first time in person. Bertone, a legendary automobile design business, declared bankruptcy in 2014. In celebration of the company's 110th anniversary, two brothers revived and manufactured the GB110.

The GB110's front end features two small headlamps and a thin strip of bodywork that stretches between them, slightly raised above the hood, similar to the R-wing on the Dodge Charger EV.

Bertone has already admitted that the GB110 rides on an existing car's chassis, but he hasn't revealed whose vehicle it is. Rumor has it that it's based on the Lamborghini Huracan. The 5.2-liter V10 engine, upgraded with two turbochargers, produces 1,085 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, supporting this claim.

According to Bertone, the GB110 will be the first high-performance car that runs entirely on recycled plastic. In collaboration with Select Fuel, the business has developed proprietary technology to convert polycarbonate into sustainable fuel. It is our firm belief that a wide range of technological approaches is necessary to effectively combat pollution.

“Our partnership with Select Fuel allows us to transform waste back into its original form,” said Jean-Franck Ricci, CEO of Bertone. The GB110 sports a peak speed that surpasses 380 km/h (236 mph) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.79 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 6.79 seconds, according to the design house.

From a standstill, it reaches 186 mph (300 km/h) in only 14 seconds. A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox supplies power to each of the four wheels. The car's simple interior is the perfect match for the muscular exterior. In keeping with the C8 Corvette's interior design, it has a digital instrument cluster, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a big central spine that divides the driver and passenger.

In addition to the usual cluster of controls located on the wheel, there is now a small infotainment screen. At this time, the assembly line will only have 33 units. Prices are still under wraps.
