Bentley's Mulliner division takes the brand to a whole new level with the Bacalar and even asks a heavily $ 2million for the work done. These coming Bacalaras are original one from another and worth a collection's spot. Bentley claims its Mulliner division is the oldest coachbuilder in the world, being almost as old as the brand itself starting almost a century ago. The first 12 units will be custom-built.

The Bacalar concept is based on the Continental GTC convertible but differs with 750 new components Its styling was mostly borrowed from 2019’s stunning EXP 100 GT concept - a big radiator grille, twin hood vents, slim tail lamps, a slimmer waist, and the rear arches and headlights that bleed out into the fenders behind them. The concept comes as a two-seat roadster with a double-bubbled rear conopy and is a piece of a kind since it's the second two-seat Bentley since 1930. Don't hope for a roof or an emergency top because these 12 beauties are heading straight to Miami and Monaco.

The Milliner team blended perfectly the modern features along with the classic echoes of the Bentley. This way the interior has two luggage pods instead of the back seats, a unique wraparound cockpit with a taller console, even a little bit of Porsche RS style door release pulls. You know why - because the team can do it. Also, Bentley confirmed the modern touch for the Balcar would be the flat-bottom wheel, sci-fi design of the graphics in the digital gauge cluster, and very different trim materials, creates an overall impression of a much more modern car than the GTC.

Interesting that the wheel design has three finishes: satin, polished, and gloss, and each layer is consecutively applied on every rim. According to Bentley, on wheel take a whole week to paint a Bacalar's wheel. Other ravishing features are the wool used sparingly on the dashboard, seats, and door panels along with the dark wood dashboard built from Riverwood - preserved for 5000 years in peat bogs, lakes, and rivers in eastern England.

The differences that make each of the 12 lot unique are seen and on the mechanical specifications won't' disappoint either, though these are a standard on each car. This time Bentley gives you a Bacalar powered by twin-turbo W12 that delivers 650 horsepower, a real chance at 0-60 mph (100km/h) in 3.5 seconds, and if you want some pure adrenaline on wheels, the automaker also went to the trouble of testing the concept for 200 mph top speed.

There are rumors that Bentley is working on its next coach-built creation, but sadly this won't be another roadster-type car. With all the Bacalars sold, let's hope the Mulliner team will be back again for another roadster-type car adventure. These ones are marvelous.
