Bentley Mulliner Unveils The Batur Convertible: A Rare Coachbuilt Masterpiece

Bentley Mulliner has just presented the Batur Convertible, their third coach-built vehicle. There will be a total of sixteen units made for this project, making it extremely unique. The Batur Convertible is also notable for being among the last Bentleys to use the twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine.

To start with, the custom model will incorporate a ducktail spoiler and a body-colored Airbridge behind the headrests. The Mulliner division will, as one would anticipate, tailor each manufacturing unit to the owner's precise specifications.

3D-printed rose gold inlays for the inside, made in partnership with professional goldsmiths, are only one of many features that owners will discover. The infinite color possibilities are supposedly accessible to consumers, who may "specify the color and finish of practically every surface of the Batur Convertible," according to Bentley.

This model, which bears the number #0, is the engineering prototype. Mulliner opted for a stunning exterior color scheme of Vermillion Gloss and Satin, complemented by Carbon Fiber and Gloss Dark Titanium. An engine with 740 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque—a hand-assembled twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12—is located under the hood.

A titanium exhaust system, improved turbos, new intercoolers, thorough re-calibration, and an overhauled intake system were responsible for these results. Take note that this summer, after 20 years of development, the mill will cease manufacturing, making way for Bentley's electric future. Price details were not provided, although it is anticipated that each of the sixteen Batur Convertibles would cost over £2 million ($2.5 million).
