Bentley has done it again, pushing the limits of what an SUV can be. The latest version of the Bentayga Speed has just made headlines after setting a new record at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s now officially the fastest production SUV powered by a combustion engine to take on the legendary hill climb.
Earlier this June, Bentley revealed the updated Bentayga Speed, which now features a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. This new setup delivers an impressive 650 horsepower, giving it a clear edge over the older W12 model it replaces.

The numbers are wild for a luxury SUV—0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed that reaches 310 km/h. But Bentley wasn’t just aiming for bragging rights in a straight line.

They wanted to prove the new Bentayga can also handle corners, climbs, and real driving challenges. So they brought it to Goodwood. Behind the wheel was Andy Marson, who managed to complete the course in 55.8 seconds, despite the track surface not being in perfect shape. That run didn’t just break the previous record—it beat the old Bentayga W12’s time by almost a full second.

During the climb, the Bentley Bentayga Speed hit a top speed of 209 kilometers per hour, showing off handling and performance that you’d usually expect from a sports car. This record-breaking run proves that Bentley’s idea of performance is no longer limited to grand tourers—it’s alive and roaring in their SUV lineup too.
