Before Production Begins, MW Motors Redesigns The Luka Electric Coupe

The Luka EV project, developed by a Czech company called MW Motors, just received several significant modifications, including a redesigned exterior, an upgraded electric motor, and a reworked chassis.

Luka EV was unveiled in 2018, although manufacturing has not yet begun. Strangely, before the automobile had even gone on sale, MW Motors decided to completely redesign it.

The Luka EV's design is clearly inspired by many different historic cars. Nonetheless, it swaps out the BMW-style nostrils (the model seen below) for a covered grille to improve aerodynamics. Other changes include new mirrors, larger rear fenders to accommodate the larger 17-inch alloy wheels, and more refined chrome bumpers.

Although the company has not released any inside photos or drawings, they have touted a new and upgraded dashboard as well as roomier seats and additional storage. Under the hood, the quad in-wheel motors will be swapped out for a new, water-cooled electric engine, and a new battery will enable quicker charging times.

In addition to the low center of gravity and the intended 50/50 weight distribution, the steering, brakes, and chassis have all been modified to increase safety and handling. Details about the product's technical specs will be released at a later time. Before, it could drive up to 186 miles on a single charge and generate a total of 66 horsepower. The Luka EV will go on pre-sale sometime in the first half of 2023, and a starting price of €40,000 ($42,058) is now listed on the company's official website.
