Volkswagen Australia has introduced a limited-edition model of the T6.1 Multivan named "Edition." The model will be manufactured in a limited run of 250 units with special upgrades for the Australian market. The Australian model is the top passenger trim of the Transporter T6.1, which was introduced in 2019.

The blacked-out roof B-pillars and mirror caps, Aracaju alloy wheels, and "Edition" stickers on the profile and tailgate set the Volkswagen Multivan T6.1 Edition apart from the standard model. All other elements, such as full-LED lighting and a chrome-infused grille, are featured as standard, so the sole customization choice is color.

A few examples of the available colors in Australia include "Candy White," "Pure Grey," "Cherry Red," "Ravenna Blue Metallic," "Mojave Beige Metallic," "Reflex Silver Metallic," and "Indium Grey Metallic." Wood-style flooring greets us inside, as do a captain's chair, an adjustable table with several uses, and a built-in booster seat.

Two USB-C ports, a rearview camera, heated front seats, LED ambient lighting, and the 8-inch Discover Media Navigation system are among the standard features. The classic 2.0 TDI diesel engine cranks out 148 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission sends the engine's output to the front wheels.

The van has several advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from Volkswagen, such as adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring with rear traffic warning. Volkswagen Multivan Editions start at $76,990 AUD ($48,361 USD) before on-road charges, with metallic paint jobs costing an additional $1,780 AUD ($1,118 USD). Initial Volkswagen Multivan T6.1 Edition shipments are anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2022.
