Audi Presents Six Special R8 LMS GT2 Race Cars With Special Paint Concept

Audi is restless when it comes to giving its customers something unique and remarkable. This time, the automaker has unveiled six special versions of the fabulous R8 LMS GT2 race car. Each one comes with a unique paint scheme.

Dubbed ‘Color Edition’, these six R8s will be the only ones produced and the price for them is starting at US$419,000 (€349,000) VAT not included. How about that? Would you buy one? The color used to paint these six race cars were selected and named especially for this limited edition. You can choose from Kyalami Green, Misano Red, Nogaro Blue, Sebring Black, Tactical Green, and Vegas Yellow.

Head of Audi Sport customer racing Chris Reinke confirmed that it is the first time in the 13-year history of Audi Sport customer racing when they offer such a color concept to their customers. “With one model per color, our Color Edition guarantees pure individuality and will not be issued a second time like this. It is unique compared to our competitors and attracts attention – whether as a collector’s item or as a race car at track days and competitions,” said Reinke.

The German automaker plans to build each of the six Color Edition models at the Neckarsulm production facility that is already accustomed to building the standard version of the R8 LMS GT2 Also, there are assembled the road-going model So, we expect nothing than the best of the next six race cars.

the R8 LMS GT2 was officially unveiled in mid-2019 and was introduced as the automaker’s most powerful customer race car ever. Powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 the vehicle delivers up to 630 horsepower and is the model fitted with a bespoke designed exhaust system. The R8 LMS GT2 promotes features such as radical new bodywork that makes it significantly wider than the streetcar.
