The Audi builder unveiled Ultra versions of the A4, A5, and A6 models. The family widens after it opened in August last year with Ultra A3, Audi`s most economical model in the world.

The Ultra name is the correspondent of the BlueMotion range, found in the original Volkswagen range, and the rival of the current BMW EfficientDynamics. Audi, also, tries to show to premium segment customers, that there is a continuing concern for reducing CO2 emissions and implicit consumption.

Ultra new versions come equipped, as standard, with a Start-Stop system and a system that informs the driver on rolling efficiency. In the case of the A4 and A4 Avant variant, the Ultra version brings a number of aerodynamic improvements aimed at reducing friction with the air. Also, the ride height is lowered a few millimeters down for aerodynamic reasons. In ascending order, A4 Ultra and A4 Avant Ultra are available with 2.0 TDI diesel engine capable of delivering two different power versions.

The first guarantees 136 hp and 320 Nm, and the second 163 horsepower and 400 Nm. In the more balanced version, the fuel consumption reaches just 3.9 liters/100 kilometers. A5 Coupé and A5 Sportback models, also available in Ultra version, are offered only in the 163 hp version of the 2.0 TDI unit.

It guarantees a consumption of 4.2 liters and emissions of 109 g/km for the A5 Coupe and 4.3 liters and 111 g/km for the A5 Sportback. The two biggest models announced - A6 Ultra and Avant A6 Ultra uses the same 2.0-liter TDI engine, but able to give a little more power: 190 hp and 400 Nm.

In this case, Audi denies the manual transmission in favor of a seven reports S-tronic for improving efficiency.
