Audi's 2025 A3 Sportback TFSI e takes plug-in hybrids to a new level, blending modern tech with more power, better performance, and greater electric range. Available in Europe, the two versions—the 40 TFSI e and 45 TFSI e—are packed with enhancements, starting at €44,200  and €47,700, respectively.

The heart of both models is Audi’s new 1.5-liter TFSI evo2 engine, replacing the older 1.4-liter. The 40 TFSI e produces a robust 148 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, while the 45 TFSI e enhances performance with 174 hp.

These engines work hand-in-hand with an electric motor that adds 114 hp and 243 lb-ft, giving the 40 TFSI e a total of 201 hp and the 45 TFSI e an impressive 268 hp. The result? A swift, responsive drive. The 40 TFSI e reaches 0-62 mph in 7.4 seconds and tops out at 140 mph. The 45 TFSI e, with its extra muscle, hits the same speed in just 6.3 seconds and keeps going until it reaches 147 mph.

Both models are enjoyable to drive, offering smooth acceleration and plenty of power for city and highway driving. A key upgrade is the larger 25.7 kWh battery, which provides nearly 50% more energy than the outgoing model. That translates into an impressive 89 miles of pure electric driving. And when the battery runs low, Audi’s first-ever DC fast charging system for the A3 means you can recharge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.

Driving modes let you switch between electric, hybrid, and performance settings, and paddle shifters let you control how much energy you recapture through braking. There’s even a power boost function for a quick shot of extra speed when you need it.
