Two new designs influenced by Aston Martin's racing green have been showcased as the company continues to provide Formula 1 with safety cars for the upcoming season. The Aston Martin Vantage will serve as the series' official safety car, while the Aston Martin DBX will serve as the series' official medical vehicle.

Aston Martin will deliver vehicles for 12 Formula One races, beginning on April 7 to 10 at Albert Park in Melbourne. The outside color of the two safety cars matches that of the company's recently announced F1 competitor, the AMR22.

Bernd Mayländer, who has been driving the F1 safety car for almost 20 years, has been nominated by the FIA to pilot the Vantage. It now sports an FIA safety car livery, an LED rear numberplate, bodyside-mounted radio antennas, and a roof-mounted LED light bar. An FIA marshaling system and a live television system are installed inside the Aston Martin Vantage.

Likewise, a fire extinguisher, a defibrillator, and a big medical kit bag have been added to the heavier DBX medical car. FIA-approved racing seats, a six-point safety harness, its marshaling system, and TV screens are also included in the vehicle.

Even though the 542 horsepower Aston Martin DBX does not have an upgraded drivetrain, it can nonetheless accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. It will be tasked to carry FIA medical rescue coordinator, Dr. Ian Roberts, to a crash scene. Last season, the British company shared safety car duties with Mercedes-AMG. Until Aston Martin arrived in 2021, Mercedes-AMG was the main provider of F1 safety vehicles every year since 1996.
