Ariel Atom 4RR Is the Fastest, Most Powerful Atom Ever; Only 25 Will Be Made

Ariel is celebrating 25 years of its bonkers Atom with its wildest creation yet: the Atom 4RR. Built purely for the track (but somehow still street legal), this is the most powerful version of the Atom ever. Only 25 lucky drivers will get their hands on one.
It’s based on the already crazy Atom 4R, but Ariel wasn’t done turning things up. The 4RR still uses the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine from the Honda Civic Type R, but now it cranks out a ridiculous 525 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. That’s more than the legendary Atom V8 from 2010, which already felt like strapping yourself to a rocket.

How did they squeeze out that extra 125 hp? Ariel tweaked just about everything—upgraded internals, new components, and sharper fuel and oil systems. They haven’t shared all the numbers yet, but considering the 4R already hit 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, the 4RR will probably flirt with supercar-level acceleration.

Looks-wise, it’s more of the same in the best way. Big wings, huge intakes, and an aggressive new yellow-accented livery that makes it look like a baby Formula 1 car. It’s loud, it’s low, and it looks fast just sitting still.

It’s wild to think how far the Atom has come. The original, back in 2000, had just 120 horsepower and a simple space frame. Since then, it’s steadily climbed the power ladder—200 hp, 300 hp, then the 500-hp V8 madness, and now this. The Ariel Atom 4RR is the peak so far.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning something that feels like a race car but is legal to drive on the road (technically), this is it.
