All-Wooden Supercar - Looks Ridiculous

The 2015 Essen Motors Show is full of surprises. We talked about some of the tuned wonders on wheels, the true beast made of metal.
Today, we're going to show you something absolutely different! A car made of wood. And not just a car - a supercar, and wait for it - it's not a Morgan!
This all-wood supercar is called the Splinter and was made by Joe Harmon, an industrial designer from North Carolina. The most important thing though is that it is entirely made of wood! It basically leaves Morgan in the shade.
The Splinter was inspired by a WWII wooden airplane called Havilland Mosquito. The body is made from laminated plaited cherry skins and tessellated end-gran balsa core. The chassis is a monocoque, the transmission is made of A-arms with adjustable shocks and airbag springs. It has a mid-mounted 7-liter aluminum V8 engine that produces 600 hp and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
This is in fact a wooden piece of art that looks like a supercar!
