All information about the first BMW electric car!

The idea of an unconventional BMW, with an electric propulsion and a body similar to a van, presented by the Bavarian two years ago as a concept, has reached its final form, ready for serial production. In this way, the BMW i3 becomes the first representative of the new "i" range, the indicative that will designate the electric drive or hybrid models. Most likely, Bavarian firm`s fans will be the first to reject the new pattern, because of the weird design for a BMW: a kind of a city van, with a length of 4 meters, which makes it, at the moment, the shortest BMW.

And even if the headlights and the grille respect the tradition of the brand, the front view is totally different from the rest of the BMW models, while the back seems to have nothing in common with BMW, being high, slim, with weird stops integrated in the tailgate. Different doors could not miss this menu, the backside ones being much smaller with a reverse opening, while the lower line of the windows can be characterized by being very strange.

It`s true, this way, the access within the 4 seats interior is easier than in the BMW coupe`s one, but the interior design does have nothing to do with the sporty style. Instead, the ergonomics is at a very good level, being "given" with an impressive high-tech character. In the interior, the symmetrical dashboard is dominated by a central display that gives the impression that floats, on its base being placed the orders for multimedia and air conditioning in a different way than in the case of conventional BMW models.

The dashboard behind the wheel was also turned into a legible large display, which shows the information regarding the energy consumption and the autonomy. We cannot forget to mention the steering wheel column module designed for the gearbox controls, thus creating a free space on the center tunnel, excluding the large console, and creating more space for front passengers. Technically speaking, the most important information about the revolutionary BMW i3, released shortly before, are still valid, at which they added the base price in Germany that is 34,950 euro.
